Small apps,
lovingly bodged.
bodgy.dev is a tiny workshop for apps that do one thing well and have a little fun doing it. Here's what's on the bench.
Apps
ProsNCons
Pros and cons, together.
Start a decision, list the good and the not-so-good in two columns, and text a one-time link to friends so they can weigh in.
Take a look →ThisOrThat
Two options. One winner.
A collaborative decision matrix. Pit two options against each other, add what matters, drag each criterion toward the one that wins it, and watch the score add up.
Take a look →STRNGTH
Your coach's program, logged.
A platform for independent strength coaches: a web dashboard where coaches write programs, and an iPhone app where their athletes run them on the gym floor, signal or not.
Take a look →Bell Bearing
Motion tracker. Taco target.
A compass that always points at the nearest Taco Bell, dressed as a sci-fi motion tracker: a curved phosphor CRT, a sweeping scan pulse, and a blip that pings higher the closer you get.
Take a look →How things get made here
A few habits every app on the bench shares.
Native, all the way
SwiftUI and Swift 6 on the phone. No web views pretending to be apps.
Light on the backend
Small, boring servers that cost next to nothing to run and nothing to babysit.
Ask for as little as possible
No sign-up where an app doesn't need one. A random otter is a fine identity.
Playful on purpose
Chunky buttons that press down, springy motion, and colors you could eat.
